Smile Makeover in Joyner — Design Your Smile Before We Begin
You have been thinking about this for a while — perhaps years. Smile design at Joyner Family Dental starts with a digital preview of your proposed result, modelled on your own facial features, before any treatment begins. A deliberate process, no pressure, transparent pricing. Serving Joyner, Strathpine, Albany Creek, Petrie, and Warner.
Smile Design
Preview the smile before treatment starts
A smile makeover at Joyner combines veneers, crowns, whitening, and alignment — coordinated through Digital Smile Design so you preview the proposed result before any treatment begins. For most people, the idea of redesigning their smile has been a private thought for years — something revisited at weddings, in photographs, in the mirror on an ordinary Tuesday morning. The gap, the chip, the shade that never quite matched the image they carried of themselves. Not something urgent. Not something requiring emergency treatment. Something they had been meaning to do.
Cosmetic dentistry done well is not about creating a new face. It is about resolving the distance between how you look and how you feel. At Joyner Family Dental, that conversation begins before a single instrument is touched — with a design session, a digital preview, and space to think it through without any commitment. The threshold is lower than most people assume.
A smile makeover typically combines treatments such as porcelain veneers, Invisalign, teeth whitening, and composite bonding chosen based on your goals and what your teeth need.

Digital preview, staged treatment planning, and time to decide.
Natural Results
Your Smile. Not a Template.
Modern ceramic restorations — lithium disilicate e.max, layered individually by hand — are designed to match your natural tooth proportions, light refraction, and colouring so the result integrates rather than announces itself. The fear of a result that looks obviously cosmetic — teeth that are too white, too uniform, somehow disconnected from the face they sit in — is the reason most patients have delayed this conversation for years. Modern ceramic restorations do not look like that. Not when the design is built around what you already have.
Joyner Family Dental uses the Trios 5 intraoral scanner and Digital Smile Design software to map your facial structure, tooth proportions, and natural colouring before any design begins. The result is shaped around your existing features — your lip line, your facial symmetry, the light that passes through your teeth. The shade guide is not a formula; it is a reference point that a skilled ceramist interprets individually for each case.
Every ceramic restoration produced for a Joyner smile design case is individually layered — colour and translucency built up by hand to match the teeth it will sit beside.

The Process
Every Step Has a Purpose. None of Them Are a Surprise.
Comprehensive smile design is not a single appointment. It is a sequence of deliberate steps — each one building on the last, each one keeping you informed. By the time any irreversible work begins, you will have seen the result, adjusted the design, and approved everything in detail.
Design Consultation
Your dental team scans your teeth using the Trios 5 intraoral scanner and reviews your photographs, facial proportions, and smile goals. A Digital Smile Design session follows — modelling a proposed result on your actual face. You see the design on screen and walk away with a detailed written quote.
Design Review and Approval
If you decide to proceed, the design is refined based on your feedback — shade adjusted, proportions fine-tuned, questions answered. Nothing irreversible is scheduled until you are confident in the plan and have approved the final design in writing.
Preparation and Temporaries
Where preparation is required, your dentist works under local anaesthetic to prepare each tooth to the precise specifications of the approved design. Temporary restorations are placed immediately, giving you a real-world preview of the approved shape and proportion.
Final Placement
Your permanent ceramic restorations arrive from the laboratory. Each one is tried in for fit, colour, and appearance before bonding. When you confirm you are satisfied, they are placed and your bite is adjusted for long-term comfort. A follow-up review is scheduled two weeks later.

Design Preview
You Will See Your New Smile Before We Begin
Before any procedure begins, Digital Smile Design software renders your proposed result using your Trios 5 scan data and clinical photographs — adjustable in real time, approved in writing before anything irreversible starts. The intraoral scan is complete. The photographs have been taken. Your dental team opens the Digital Smile Design software, imports your data, and begins building a proposal — shaping tooth proportions, adjusting the shade, modelling how the design sits within your facial structure. Then the screen turns around.
What appears is not a stock illustration. It is your face, your teeth, your proposed result — rendered at the level of detail that lets you see how the design will interact with your existing teeth, your skin tone, your lip line. You can request adjustments in real time. Longer, shorter, slightly warmer, a touch more natural variation. The design is iterated until it reflects exactly what you had in mind. Nothing is locked in until you are satisfied — and nothing proceeds until you say so.
Digital Smile Design (DSD) is a planning protocol — it models a proposed result, not a confirmed outcome. The final result is shaped by biological variables including gum health, tooth structure, and occlusion. Your dental team will walk you through the full picture at your consultation.

The Craft
The Hands Behind the Result
Each ceramic restoration is handcrafted from e.max lithium disilicate — combining 360–500 MPa flexural strength with the translucency that allows light to pass through it the way it does through natural enamel. Lithium disilicate refracts light the way natural enamel does: with depth, warmth, and the subtle variation that makes a restoration disappear against the teeth beside it. The ceramist layers colour and translucency incrementally, building each restoration to the precise specifications locked in at your design session.
The Trios 5 scanner provides the ceramist with a digital model accurate to microns. The shade prescription is not a single number from a guide — it is a detailed description of the primary colour, secondary translucency zones, surface texture, and incisal edge character of each individual tooth. That level of specification is what separates a restoration that looks crafted from one that looks placed.
